Inverary Castle, Argyll, Scotland

The original Inverary Castle, built in the 1400's was the Ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll, on the West coast of Scotland on the shores of Loch Fyne.  Construction of a more modern Inverary Castle was begun in 1746. In 1877 the castled caught fire and was rebuilt yet again, at which time a 3rd floor was added along with the conical roofs on the corner towers.

This information was obtained from the official Inverary Castle website.
